Elearning module “Heat risks”

Les risques liés à la chaleur

Description

A large number of occupations require workers to operate in environments where temperatures are high: this includes dye works, laundries, kitchens, mines, blast furnaces, foundries, as well as welding shops. Furthermore, some people work outdoors and may be exposed to heat, especially during heat waves in summer. These thermal conditions can have serious consequences on health and increase the risk of workplace accidents.

This module presents environments marked by high temperatures as well as the consequences this can have on health.

Targets

All employees working in the sectors:

  • Textile industry,
  • The mining industry,
  • Catering (cooking, etc.),
  • Metallurgy (foundry, welding, etc.),
  • Construction (exposure to heatwave risks).

Teaching methods

This module is structured by a deductive educational approach, moving from theory to practice. Theoretical content screens are based on an affirmative (top-down) methodology followed by a summative assessment in the form of QUIZ.
